North Shore Soup Kitchen
"...Serving the Hungry & Homeless of Glen Cove..."
Green Bar

The North Shore Soup Kitchen is a not-for-profit, volunteer based organization. Established in 1989 to feed hungry people in the Glen Cove area, it recently changed its name. Located in the First Baptist Church, we serve hot meals three days a week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from noon to 1:00PM. This is the only soup kitchen on Nassau County’s north shore.

Who We Are

Who We Are Arrow
It was founded by volunteers in 1989 when it became apparent that hunger was not limited to developing countries or inner city ghettos but was right here on Long Island. We are staffed by more than 100 volunteers who serve a hot meal three days a week to hungry people in the Glen Cove area. These dedicated workers cook, serve and clean up after meals. They also work behind the scenes, ordering supplies, writing our newsletter, acknowledging donations, sorting donated clothing, and keeping our books.

What We Do

In addition to serving meals, it provides support services with the goal of empowering families to become self-sufficient.
